Costanza apartment

This 40 square meter studio apartment is located in western Milan within the Washington district. The existing apartment layout used the limited floor area poorly leaving an cramped awkward living space. The design proposed to remove all internal partition walls and relocated the service spaces to the back of the plan. This allowed the living and sleeping spaces to occupy the area adjacent to the external facade thus taking advantage of natural daylight. A sliding door separates the living and sleeping spaces providing privacy when needed, when opened the two spaces form one unified  living area giving the apartment a spacious feeling.
