Canazei apartment

This project involved the renovation of an existing apartment located in the alpine village of Canazei, northern Italy. The design proposal created a internal layout which can be used as one large singular space or divided into two independent areas one of which can be rented throughout the year. The required service spaces are attached to a central spine whilst the surrounding spaces are left for living and sleeping areas. The service spine is constructed in pine creating a timber core perforated by functional niches. In general the interior approach was inspired by timber alpine construction and traditional log cabins from the Trentino region.
